Agricultural Lime (Aglime) for Indiana Farmers

South Lake Stone supplies agricultural lime, also called aglime, for Indiana farmers, ag operators, and land managers. Our aglime is produced at our INDOT-approved Hebron, Indiana facility and is delivered throughout Lake County, Porter County, Jasper County, and the surrounding northwest Indiana region.

Aglime, Explained

Agricultural lime is finely ground limestone applied to soil to neutralize soil acidity and raise pH. Most Indiana row-crop soils gradually acidify over time as a result of fertilizer use, plant uptake, and natural weathering. Lower pH reduces nutrient availability and limits crop yield, even when fertility programs look strong on paper.

Applying aglime brings soil pH back into the optimal range, which improves nutrient availability, microbial activity, and root development. For Indiana corn and soybean operations in particular, maintaining proper soil pH is one of the most cost-effective inputs available.
